Managers et Changement au Maroc
Managers and Change in Morocco
The new situation of competition with worldwide
implications is such that corporate entities everywhere are jointly facing the need to
entirely redesign their systems of organization and strategies of action. These changes
equally affect humans and structures as well as modes of reasoning and patterns of
behavior. Time constraints are steadily weighing more heavily in the balance. Sometimes
this even makes it necessary to abruptly stray from acquired habits and cumbersome ways of
reacting. Many decision-makers find difficulty in providing easy answers to topics of
disquiet engendered by these transformations. One might ask, are we sufficiently equipped
to confront without hesitation the hyper competitive environment of today's world? And,
how have other people, whether working in a similar or different surroundings, actually
reacted? What solutions have they adapted to solve the problems and difficulties
encountered?
This publication attempts to provide a
picture of what is possible in Morocco. Examples are given that depict Managers and their
workforces tackling head on the problems generated by change and their attempt to solve
them the best human and economic conditions possible. This experience has been based on
occurrences in different types of organizations (Administration, state-owned entities
slated for privatization, private entities and subsidiaries of multinationals) which share
a common objective and where conviction remains the moving force behind the measures
taken. But in each instance a specific "path" is sought, resulting of a
difficult-to-acquire consensus agreed between the various participants. This path is, in
fact, nothing less than that of intelligence and combined effort.
